At Carbone, we aim to:

That is the reason why every year, and we're committed to donating 2% of our revenue for charity in 3 sectors: Education, Environment and Open-source software! We are excited to announce the selected non-profit organizations:

🌿 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁

We take care of the places we live and work, supporting projects that help protect and restore our natural surroundings.

• Carbone Bleu des Marais (Website) is a local non-profit in Vendée (France) dedicated to protecting and restoring coastal wetlands that act as powerful "blue carbon" sinks. These ecosystems capture and store CO₂ from the atmosphere, helping fight climate change while supporting biodiversity and protecting shorelines from erosion. Their work is rooted in science, education, and collective restoration action, bringing together communities, and researchers to preserve these fragile but vital landscapes.
• Bestrun (Linkedin) is a non-profit organization focused on studying, protecting, and raising awareness about the natural heritage of Réunion Island and the Indian Ocean. Their actions include conservation projects (native forest or reefs), naturalist outings to discover local flora and fauna, large-scale waste-cleanups (on land and sea), scientific projects through research, oceanographic expeditions, and community engagement such as public events and school interventions.

📚 Education

We work with local schools in Vendée (France), because most private schools are run by non-profit associations. Our donations help fund educational projects, school trips, and playground facilities for the children. This also helps keep tuition fees low for families (about 35 euros per child per month).

💻 Open Source

Open source software is built by communities, for communities, and we want to give back to the people and projects that make our work possible. We contribute to the tools and projects that Carbone relies on every day.

• Riot.js (website) is a tiny, straightforward library for building user interfaces using custom HTML tags. It lets you create reusable components by combining HTML and JavaScript in a simple, readable way—without needing extra tools or complex setups.
• DayJS (website) is a small JavaScript library for working with dates and times in web applications. It lets you parse, manipulate, format, and display dates easily, using a simple and familiar API—similar to Moment.js but much smaller in size. 
• BeerCSS (website) is a lightweight CSS framework designed specifically for Material Design 3. It lets developers quickly build modern, clean user interfaces without needing complex setups or dependencies.
