In May 2022, actu.fr met the three founders of Carbone.io in Bellevigny, a few days after the company received a Trophées Avenir 2022 award, under a headline we still like: with their start-up, they want to conquer the world of digital documents.

### What the article captured

The idea, in David Grelaud's words: every invoice, audit, report or parcel label is generated by software, and the tools that do it are complicated to use. Carbone lets almost anyone design the document and keep it up to date.

The first customers already said a lot: Christian Dior, generating its export customs documents with Carbone on every order; the French Ministry of the Interior, through a system built on Carbone; IAD France, for its real-estate brochures. And one German customer alone generating eight million documents in a single month.

By then, two years after the first line of code, Carbone had already produced hundreds of millions of documents, from Brazil to New Zealand, and was the only company in France offering this.

### What has not changed

"I tinkered with something in my corner and it worked," David told actu.fr. The tinkering became a product, the product became a company, and the ambition in that 2022 headline is now a daily job: more than six hundred customers across Europe and North America, still from Bellevigny, still the same three founders.

### Thank you!

Our thanks to Pierre Barboteau and actu.fr for coming to Bellevigny, and to the Trophées Avenir jury for the early vote of confidence.
