Generate a document
Generate your first report in just a few minutes with Carbone!
1 - Design a test template
Generating your first document with Carbone is very simple.
Simply an ODT or DOCX document with Microsoft Word, Libreoffice or Google Docs (just to get start, other formats are of course supported 😉).
Then write tags, which are placeholders used by Carbone to inject data, such as:
Name: {d.firstname} {d.lastname}
Here's an example using Word:

2 - Upload a template
For the second step, you need to upload your template into Carbone platform.
First, create your account on Carbone Cloud and go to Carbone Studio.
Then click on Main Menu
> New Template
, upload your first template and set a name:
3 - Preview your document
All that's left to do is insert your data into the JSON editor. Your document is immediately previewed:
4 - Download final document
You can then download your document in any format you like!

Amazing feature - Live reloading
Live reloading allows designing and editing templates from your local text editor, and Carbone Studio will preview the report automatically. Upload a template once, and the document previews on Carbone studio as soon as the JSON/template is updated.
In a nutshell, you create a new document, for example, in Microsoft Word. Once uploaded to Carbone Studio, you can edit your template in Word, and each time you save, the preview will be refreshed in Studio.
